The design for the winery began with the intention to create a powerful yet elegant structure that would reflect and enhance the beauty of the estate property. The structure's crescent shaped form is nestled into the natural contours of the hillside. Wine is processed using a gravity flow system where grapes are funneled from the upper deck of the winery to the fermentation tanks and the caves below. Adjacent to the winery is the visitor reception center with wine tasting facilities and corporate offices.
Upon completion of the winery, WWA was commissioned to design the estate residence. The residence was to compliment the beauty of the estate and the specific features of the lakeside setting. The residence serves as a quiet family retreat as well as a place to entertain up to two hundred guests. The unique design maintains intimately scaled spaces throughout with options to expand efficiently into porches and galleries when needed for larger gatherings.
